2015 • Art project «Another Dazhynki»
Regardless of the views and preferences all living people have one thing in common — they are still alive.
The project “Another Dazhynki” is a continuation of a previous art-project “Dazhynki” (i.e. “"the final reaping”), который экспонировался осенью 2013 года. Та выставка получилась яркой, радостной и светлой. Арт-критики и журналисты называли её утопией, с чем я не вполне соглашалась и готова была задорно продолжать «культивировать» эту тему…
... But soon the world has changed, and on traditional reproach to the artist: “You are getting too far away from real life!”, — I wanted to reply: “Rather, we are all getting too far from death.”
And it’s true — we used to live as if we will never die. We are careless in deeds, words, thoughts, and do not think that directly or indirectly may affect not only the life around us, but also the death that surrounds us — we got used to it: the life and the death. Along with new works, the exhibition included 18 paintings from the previous project "Dazhynki" 2013 onwards and consisted of a total of 28-and large canvases. Visual language is the same, but from a conversation gone joy-"Dazhynki" the 2-nd became another, and a new series can be called dystopia. And in one exposition two pole projects: "Dazhynki" the 1-st and "Another Dazhynki", allowed the most articulate promise — regardless of attitudes and preferences, all human beings have in common is that they are still alive.
